GlowTouch Technologies has partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to build and open a new Mega Kitchen facility in Mangalore, India. Each day, the kitchen will serve 50,000 children attending government-aided schools in and around the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regions.
The new Mega Kitchen held a grand opening Bhoomi Puja ceremony on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 in Mangalore, India. After years of planning and brainstorming, what was once a dream is now becoming a reality.
“This is my dream project, which aims to nourish approximately 50,000 children, help in eradicating malnutrition and also provide quality education to them.” said Dr. V. Ravichandran, CEO of Diya, a GlowTouch Company, is GlowTouch Technologies’ Mangalore, India organization).
The project developed from a partnership between the GT Foundation, Diya’s philanthropic organization, and Akshaya Patra, a not-for-profit organization that provides the world’s largest mid-day meals program, serving more than 1.6 million school children.
