GlowTouch Partners with "Heath Streak Foundation" and Sponsors International Cricket Match
MANGALORE - May 2, 2012 - GlowTouch Technologies, an award-winning IT services firm providing custom technology services to businesses of all sizes, announced its ongoing involvement with the "Heath Streak Foundation," a charitable organization launched by Heath Streak, world renowned cricket legend and former captain of the Zimbabwe cricket team.
The Foundation was formally announced by Heath Streak in a visit to Mangalore on April 28th, 2012 and aims to support underprivileged children deprived of basic educational opportunities and healthcare. GlowTouch Technologies' CEO, Dr. V. Ravichandran, collaborated closely with the Foundation's Managing Director, Joseph Rego, to undertake a large-scale fundraising campaign in Mangalore designed to generate financial support from the local community.
Each year, the Foundation will distribute "Child Education Certifications" to local disadvantaged children that will entitle the children to use the certificate in helping fund their higher education pursuits. The Foundation has also partnered with a local healthcare organization, Unity Hospital, to provide financial support to local children suffering from heart disorders and other illnesses.
In an effort to support the Foundation and drive awareness, GlowTouch partnered with the Foundation to sponsor an international Cricket match, the first ever in Mangalore, which was held at the NMPT Cricket Stadium on April 29th, 2012 between the Zimbabwe Africans and the Karnataka Indians. The match was telecast live, replete with a full media contingent, and had an estimated audience of more than 5,000 people.
Dr. V. Ravichandran also invited Heath Streak and his team of International Cricket professionals to the GlowTouch facility in Mangalore, where they collectively discussed the prospect of opening a new cricket stadium in Mangalore and enhancing the current training facilities to better support the local cricket players.

GlowTouch Customer Buckhead Mountain Grill Unveils Craft Beer App During Grand Reopening
Buckhead Mountain Grill, a GlowTouch customer, has reopened again after being closed for four months because of a fire. The restaurant closed in early December after an electrical fire damaged the building.
"It was terrible, but we did take it for what it was worth and changed as much as we could to make it better for the customer after four months of being closed," said Kelly Leonardo with Buckhead.
One of restaurant's new features is a brand new bar, complete with tablets people can use to learn about all the craft beer that's served at the restaurant. The custom designed, Android-based craft beer application, developed in conjunction with GlowTouch Technologies, allows patrons to search the restaurant's extensive beer selection, learn about specific characteristics of particular beers, view daily beer specials, and much more.

Coastal Business Development Summit by FKCCI

GlowTouch Develops 'Interactive Beer App' for Local Establishment
Rocky’s Sub Pub recently rolled out a new Android tablet that utilizes a "craft beer app," a tasty tech piece that helps brew fans make educated choices from the restaurant’s immense selection.
Wes Johnson, co-owner of the business, said the idea for the app grew out of his and his staff’s frustration with printed paper beer lists. Johnson, his partners and managers have worked on the idea since early in 2011.
To make it a reality, Rocky’s partnered with GlowTouch Technologies, a software development firm based in Louisville, which finished the project in November.

In the last Business Development session of day three, GlowTouch Technologies (www.glowtouch.com) CSO Michael Fountain delivered his presentation, "Productize.it - A 7-Step Blueprint for Turning Ideas into Products, Over and Over Again".
The presentation gave a step by step guide to how providers can generate their ideas into full-fledged products.
Fountain has designed, developed, deployed, and managed over a dozen different production level applications across several different companies, realizing these ideas from start to finish.
The steps, however, would more accurately be labeled "questions", as Fountain listed seven key questions an individual should ask him/herself before starting the product development process.
These include, are you passionate about the idea? What problem does the idea solve? Is this a large and growing market? Is it unique? Is it the right time? Can I build it and deploy it? And finally, can I sell it?
The brief presentation closed with a quote from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky: "You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take."

GlowTouch Technologies Donates to Flood Relief and Red Cross Efforts in Southern India
LOUISVILLE, KY and Mangalore, India / October 28, 2009 – GlowTouch Technologies, a Louisville, KY-based IT outsourcing services provider, recently launched a charitable campaign to help victims of the flood in the northern part of India’s Karnataka state that claimed 168 lives. The company has a development center located in Mangalore in Karnataka.
